Golf nights in Sydney, Nova Scotia

When you can tee off
Tee times run from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. every day. The final booking is taken at 10 p.m. A booking runs for a minimum of 1 hour. If the bay is still free when your hour is up, a 30-minute extension can be added. Be on time: a booking is released if nobody has arrived 15 minutes after the start time.
All of these are Atlantic time, the local time in Sydney. A round that runs past midnight ends early the next calendar day, which matters for the date on the booking. The casino publishes no hours for the gaming floor or the bar. Holiday hours are not published either, and 902-563-7777 is the line to call.
The fairway: does your round fit?

Bay 1, Bay 2 and your group
The simulators are Golfzon, set up in two bays, Bay 1 and Bay 2. Each bay takes up to 6 golfers, so your foursome fits in one. The system has over 200 courses. Clubs are provided in-house, so whoever is coming can leave their own bag at home. These simulators are only at the Sydney casino, and Halifax has none.
Bays are reserved by phone at 902-563-7703, up to one month in advance. For group or corporate events, the number is 902-563-7794. Everyone in the bay has to be 19 or older. That is the age to enter both the casino and the golf simulators.
Ask the bag: what can you play?

After the last hole
Some of your group may head to the gaming floor after the round, and some may go home. A golf night needs no gambling at all. The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation counted 280 slot machines and no table games at the Sydney casino as of April 2025. The electronic table games listed for Sydney are $3 Blackjack and $1 Roulette.
Live table games and poker are only at Casino Nova Scotia Halifax, 1983 Upper Water St, Halifax. The Halifax phone is 902-425-7777. Sydney has neither, and its pages describe no bingo, no keno and no sports betting.

Food and a drink after the round
After the round there is Celtic Junction Bar & Grille, with a full menu and drinks during regular business hours. Neither those hours nor its spot in the building is published. Anyone who appears to be under 30 must show valid government photo ID to be served alcohol. Whoever is coming should bring theirs.
Member pricing on food is among the listed benefits of the Player's Club. The club is free and shared by the Halifax and Sydney casinos. The casino says benefits depend on play.
Splitting the bay, keeping a limit
The guide prints no prices, and the bay rate is quoted when you book by phone at 902-563-7703. Ask for it on that call, then agree with your group how the cost is split before the night. That way nobody is doing sums at the last hole.
Anyone heading to the floor afterwards picks their own amount and stop time before the round starts. Keep that money apart from whatever was put in for the bay. When either the amount or the stop time is reached, the floor part of the night is over. Whoever skips the floor entirely has nothing extra to plan.
Split the bay, keep your limit
The rate is the one quoted when you book; this guide prints no prices.
Up to 6 golfers play in one bay, and there are 2 bays. Divide the rate quoted when you book by the number of golfers before the night. Floor money is separate: decide it, and a time to stop, at home.
The online side, kept separate
Online gambling is a separate subject from a golf night. In Nova Scotia the provincially regulated option is alc.ca, which Atlantic Lottery operates for the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, and its online casino dates from July 2022. Atlantic Lottery's position is that other online gambling sites cannot legally operate or advertise in Atlantic Canada. Overseas licences, it says, do not change that.
This guide carries paid links on its home page, each marked Ad. They lead to one private online casino partner with no licence or registration in Nova Scotia. The Casino Nova Scotia self-exclusion program and the breaks and limits on alc.ca do not reach that site. The partner pays the guide a commission and can change.

- Inside the main entrance, the Responsible Gambling Resource Centre at 902-563-3797 offers confidential support and information on self-exclusion.
- Halifax and Sydney are both covered by the Casino Nova Scotia Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program, and you can enrol through any staff member.
Before you tee off
- Can our group tee off at 10:30 p.m.?
- The final booking is taken at 10 p.m., so a 10:30 p.m. tee time falls after it. Tee times themselves run until 3 a.m., and the minimum booking is 1 hour. Call 902-563-7703 to set a start that fits.
- Will one bay hold all of us?
- Each bay takes up to 6 golfers, so a foursome fits with space to spare. There are two bays, Bay 1 and Bay 2, and group events go through 902-563-7794.
- Do we need to bring our own clubs?
- No need, because clubs are provided in-house. The Golfzon system has over 200 courses, so your group just picks one.
- Is there a poker game after the round?
- Not in Sydney: it has no poker and no live tables. Both are at Casino Nova Scotia Halifax, 1983 Upper Water St, Halifax, phone 902-425-7777.
- What time does the casino floor close?
- The casino publishes no gaming-floor hours for Sydney, and no holiday hours either. Call the casino line at 902-563-7777 to check. The 3 a.m. end applies to the simulator tee times.
